AMADEUS Introduction Amadeus is a 1984 drama biopic film directed by miloš Forman and written by Peter Shaffer. Adapted from Shaffers branch count Amadeus, the story is based loosely on the lives of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri, two composers who lived in Vienna, Austria, during the latter half of the 18th century. Being ruined knocking, they force Salieris bedroom ingress open and find him on the floor bleeding from a knife wound to the neck. He attempts suicide by slitting his pharynx while loudly beg forgiveness for having killed Mozart. They carry him to a mental hospital, where his wound is start up. The next day Salieri is visited by a young non-Christian priest who attempts to ready him to explain wherefore he would try to fritter his own life and as well t o take his  confession. Salieri is sullen and indifferent but eventually warms to the priest and launches into a long confession about the relationship amongst himself and Mozart. As the movie afterwards cut back to this dialogue, it appears that Salieris recital goes on through the wickedness and into the next day.

This dialogue comprises a frame story, with the bulk of the movie being flashbacks to Mozarts lifetime. Salieri reminisces about his youth, curiously about his devotion to theology and his love for music and how he pledges to God to remain chaste as a give way if he can in some manner inves t his life to music. He describes how his fa! thers plans for him were to go into business, but Salieri suggests that the explosive conclusion of his father, who choked to death during a meal with their family, was a miracle that allowed Salieri to espouse a career in music.
